Assistant Town Clerk (Democratic Services)

Salary within Scale LC2 ( SCP 26 to SCP 34 ) according to skills and experience.

Stone Town Council serves a population of 15,000, has 18 elected members and an annual budget around £300,000.

Because of the retirement of the present post holder we are seeking a full time, experienced Local Government professional to join a small, dedicated team of officers. The work will include the preparation of agendas and reports for the Council, its Committees and Sub-Committees and attending meetings to produce minutes. Also acting as Town Mayor's Secretary with responsibility for the Mayor's engagements, and the organisation of a number of high profile events including Civic Sunday, the Civic Dinner, Charity events etc. Flexibility and good people skills are essential.

The work involves evening meetings and some weekend duties for which time off in lieu is available.
